Thursday Nights at the Bandstand Brings Live Music Back to Unionville
The popular, free summer live music series Thursday Nights at the Bandstand has returned for a 6-week series starting August 3 with live music at Unionville’s Millennium Bandstand!
Organized by community-based Unionville Presents in partnership with the Unionville BIA, funded by dedicated community spirited sponsors and Celebrate Markham, the series attracts talented tribute and original music artists for all to enjoy free of charge.
Performance Schedule
This year’s awesome line-up kicked off on August 3 with ABBA Revisited and their tribute to ABBA, one of the most commercially successful pop/disco bands of all time; the week after on August 10, the one and only Rocket Man Elton Rohn rocked the mic with his magnificent performance and outstanding tribute to Elton John’s greatest hits.
This week, on August 24, the Epic Eagles will perform the legendary harmonies of The Eagles! The late Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll, Simply the Best as Tina Turner, will grace the stage on August 31, celebrating the 2023 David Conforti Reach for the Stars Award recipient, an award established jointly by Autism Ontario and the Conforti Family as a lasting tribute to the life of David Conforti, in recognition of making a difference through volunteerism in the autistic community.
Dance the night away with the Bee Gees when Night Fever returns on September 7! The 2023 series closes out on September 14 with the Magic of Motown featuring George St. Kitts’ ensemble of outstanding musicians and the sounds of Motown.
Starting this year, attendees are invited to contribute non-perishable items and/or financial donations to assist our local community. This new collaborative food drive is organized between Unionville Presents, Village Grocer, Unionville BIA, and Markham Food Bank.
