Nothing screams the holidays more than getting out into the community and partaking in festive events and celebrations with family and friends. Markham has all kinds of events happening; shopping, light shows, visits with Santa, charitable events, a prehistoric amusement park, and more!

The Markham Holiday Market 

Get all your holiday shopping done in one weekend at the Markham Holiday Market! Whether you are looking for gifts for loved ones, holiday decor, or something for yourself, the Markham Holiday Market is a place you need to visit this holiday season!

Between visiting vendors, be sure to watch the magic show, have your picture taken with Santa, visit a balloon elf, and snap a selfie at one of many photo stations. The Markham Holiday Market will be collecting non-perishable food items at the door to donate to the Markham Food Bank.

Fairway of Lights 

Come on out for this one-of-a-kind holiday experience at Angus Golf Club! Walk along a 1km trail that starts on the Coyote trail and circles back along the 18th hole pathway. You will be amazed and mesmerized throughout the walk by the spectacular decorations, light exhibits, and interactive displays that will transport you to the North Pole!

On Festival Nights, you will explore the 1km light trail with live entertainment including Santa, Princess appearances, live ice carving, fire entertainers, caricaturists and more! Make it an extra special night and make reservations for a dinner at the Silo Grill Restaurant.

Get outside this holiday season and walk along the famous Angus Golf Club course for the Fairway of Lights one-of-a-kind event!

Journey Into Enchantment 

This year, Journey Into Enchantment is bigger and better than ever! Drive-thru this 2km route with over 1.5 million lights in unique animated displays and a drive-thru tunnel. All this, while listening to your favourite Christmas hits, will put you in the holiday spirit! This contactless event is COVID-19 friendly and can be enjoyed by the whole family from the comfort of your car. All profits will be donated to Sick Kids Foundation, the OPACC (Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer) and the Toronto Animal Services.

Santa Visits at CF Markville

Attention nice boys and girls! Santa will be at the mall for pictures! To keep children safe, Santa will be keeping a Reindeer’s distance away (2m) and wearing a mask. Photo packages will be available to purchase on-site. Be sure to register ahead of time as spaces are limited. All booking fees will be matched by CF and donated to the Markham Food Bank and Autism Speaks Canada.

Price: $5 per booking

Toy Drive with Santa /CTV toy mountain

There is no better feeling during the holidays than giving to those in need. This year, Downtown Markham and the Pride of Canada Carousel will be hosting a Toy Drive in partnership with the CTV Toy Mountain Campaign. Bring a toy donation to the Pride of Canada Carousel on any of the days listed below and go for a spin on the carousel.

Dino Holiday: A Dino Holiday to Remember

Take a step back in time with this one-of-a-kind event! Spend a day with the family and visit Dino Holiday, Canada’s largest indoor dinosaur amusement park. Walk among 45 animatronic dinosaurs, eat carnival eats, ride carnival rides, and play classic carnival games, all with a holiday twist! Explore the many photo stations like the pterodactyl sleigh, write a letter to Santa, and if you’re lucky, you may even be able to meet the big man himself!
