ELIGIBILITY
The Markham Global Food City Getaway (the “Contest”) is open to residents of Canada, including Quebec, who have reached the age of eighteen (18) years or older at the time of entry.
The Contest is not open to elected officials, officers, directors, employees, or agents of Destination Markham Corporation (“DMC”), the City of Markham, or any of their respective affiliates, agencies, representatives, contractors, or promotional partners, nor to members of their immediate families or households. Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right, at any time and in its sole discretion, to verify the eligibility of any entrant or potential winner.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins on April 10, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) and ends on April 10, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST (the “Contest Period”). Entries received before or after the Contest Period will not be eligible.
ENTRY
No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
There is one method to enter the Contest during the Contest Period:
Method #1:
Eligible individuals may scan the QR code displayed at the Destination Markham Flavours Demo Area booth at the One of a Kind Show and complete the electronic entry form as instructed.
Each entry must include the entrant’s full name, email address, phone number, city and province of residence, postal code, and confirmation of marketing opt-in consent where applicable.
Limit of one (1) entry per person during the Contest Period. Destination Markham Corporation shall not be responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, or stolen entries, or for any technical, hardware, software, network, or system malfunctions, failures, or delays of any kind. Entries that are incomplete or do not comply with these Contest Rules are void.
All entries become the property of Destination Markham Corporation and will not be returned. By entering the Contest, entrants grant Destination Markham Corporation the right to use entry information for the purposes of administering the Contest, without further notice or compensation.
PRIZE
There is one (1) prize available to be won (the “Prize”).
Prize consists of one (1) nights’ accommodation at Delta Marriott Toronto Markham, located in Markham, Ontario, including complimentary self-parking and breakfast for two, with an approximate retail value of three hundred and fifty dollars ($355 CAD) (calculated as $300 CAD per night for one (1) night, complimentary self-parking and $55 for breakfast for two people). The winner may select the hotel stay dates, subject to hotel availability and blackout dates, as determined by Destination Markham Corporation. Prize 1 also includes a “Dinner for two” Gift Card worth two hundred dollars ($200 CAD) for QJD Peking Duck Restaurant. Prize also includes a Rouge River Brewing Company Tasting Tour for Two (2) people worth forty-five dollars ($45 CAD) The approximate total retail value of the Prize is six hundred dollars ($600 CAD).
Prize has no cash value, must be accepted as awarded, and is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash, in whole or in part. No substitutions will be made except at the sole discretion of Destination Markham Corporation. Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right to substitute any Prize or any component thereof with a prize of equal or greater value if a Prize becomes unavailable for any reason.
PRIZE EXCLUSIONS
The Prize does not include transportation to or from Markham, meals not covered by the included gift cards, incidentals, gratuities, personal expenses, or any other costs, taxes, or fees not expressly listed as part of the Prize. All such costs are the sole responsibility of the winner.
DRAW
One (1) potential winner will be selected by random draw from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period, with selected entrant eligible to win one (1) Prize only.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
The selected potential winner will be contacted by email and/or phone using the contact information provided at the time of entry. Up to three (3) attempts may be made to contact the potential winner.
If the potential winner does not respond within seventy-two (72) hours of notification, is deemed ineligible, or does not comply with these Contest Rules, the Prize will be forfeited and another potential winner may be selected by random draw from the remaining eligible entries.
PRIZE CLAIM
Before being declared a winner and receiving the Prize, the selected entrant must:
Correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question; and
Sign a declaration confirming compliance with these Contest Rules, releasing Destination Markham Corporation and the City of Markham from all liability related to the Contest or the Prize; and
Consent to the use of their name, city of residence, photograph, and/or likeness, without compensation, in any publicity carried out by Destination Markham Corporation and the City of Markham.
Failure to satisfy any of the above conditions will result in forfeiture of the Prize.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
By entering the Contest, entrants consent to their personal information being collected, stored, used, and processed by Destination Markham Corporation and the City of Markham for the purposes of administering the Contest and, where consent is provided, for future marketing communications.
THIRD-PARTY DISCLAIMER
The One of a Kind Show event organizer, Delta Marriott Toronto Markham, QJD Peking Duck Restaurant and Rouge River Brewing Company are not sponsors of, do not endorse, and are not responsible for this Contest and have no liability whatsoever in connection with the Contest, the administration of the Contest, or the awarding, receipt, use, or misuse of any Prize.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By entering the Contest, entrants agree that Destination Markham Corporation and the City of Markham shall not be liable for, and entrants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Destination Markham Corporation and the City of Markham, their elected officials, directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, actions, or liabilities of any kind resulting directly or indirectly from participation in the Contest or acceptance, possession, or use of the Prize.
GENERAL
By entering this Contest, entrants agree to comply with these Contest Rules. All decisions of Destination Markham Corporation are final and binding. Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to prohibit any person from entering the Contest or to disqualify any entrant whom it believes to be abusing the Contest Rules, including but not limited to providing false information, attempting to enter more than once, tampering with the entry process, or otherwise interfering with the proper administration of the Contest.
Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest or these Contest Rules at any time without notice. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
