DESTINATION MARKHAM NATIONAL BANK OPEN TICKET GIVEAWAY
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
ELIGIBILITY
The Destination Markham National Bank Open Ticket Giveaway (the “Contest”) is open to all legal residents of Canada who are nineteen (19) years of age or older at the time of entry.
The Contest is not open to the elected officials, officers, directors, employees, representatives or agents of Destination Markham Corporation (“DMC”), the City of Markham, Tennis Canada, the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, or any of their respective affiliates, advertising or promotional agencies, contractors, prize suppliers or promotional partners, nor to members of their immediate families or households.
For the purposes of these Contest Rules, “immediate family” includes a spouse, parent, child or sibling, whether or not they reside in the same household.
Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right, at any time and in its sole discretion, to verify the eligibility of any entrant or selected potential winner.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins when the designated Contest post is published by @visitmarkham on Instagram on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, and ends on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) (the “Contest Period”).
The timestamp associated with the Contest post and Destination Markham Corporation’s records will be the official timekeeping devices for the Contest.
Entries received before or after the Contest Period will not be eligible.
ENTRY
No purchase is necessary to enter or win the Contest.
To receive one (1) entry during the Contest Period, an eligible individual must complete all of the following steps through a valid Instagram account:
Like the designated Contest post published by @visitmarkham;
Follow @visitmarkham on Instagram; and
Comment on the designated Contest post and tag at least one (1) valid Instagram account belonging to another person.
Each separate eligible comment will count as one (1) entry, regardless of the number of accounts tagged in the comment.
Unlimited entries are permitted. To receive an additional entry, the entrant must submit a separate comment tagging at least one (1) different valid Instagram account.
Duplicate comments, repeated tagging of the same account, automated entries, bot-generated entries, mechanically reproduced entries, entries submitted through scripts or other automated means, and entries that otherwise fail to comply with these Contest Rules will not be eligible.
The tagged account is not required to enter the Contest.
The entrant must continue to follow @visitmarkham and must not delete the eligible comment before the random draw and winner-verification process have been completed.
The entrant must use an Instagram account that the entrant is authorized to use. The use of multiple Instagram accounts, identities or other methods for the purpose of circumventing these Contest Rules may result in disqualification.
Entries submitted through Facebook or through any platform other than the designated Instagram Contest post will not be eligible.
BONUS ENTRY: NEWSLETTER SIGN-UP
During the Contest Period, an eligible entrant may receive one (1) additional entry by voluntarily providing express consent to receive Destination Markham Corporation’s electronic newsletter and other commercial electronic messages through the newsletter registration form available through the link in the @visitmarkham Instagram biography.
Limit of one (1) bonus newsletter entry per eligible person.
To receive the bonus entry, the entrant must provide the information requested on the newsletter registration form, including any information required to connect the newsletter registration with the entrant’s Instagram entry.
Providing consent to receive Destination Markham Corporation’s electronic newsletter or other commercial electronic messages is not required to enter the Contest or to be eligible to win through the regular Instagram entry method.
Newsletter consent must be provided through the affirmative opt-in mechanism available on the newsletter registration form.
An entrant may withdraw consent to receive commercial electronic messages at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those messages. Withdrawing consent after the end of the Contest Period will not invalidate an otherwise eligible bonus entry.
ENTRY CONDITIONS
Entries must comply with these Contest Rules and with Instagram’s applicable terms, policies and community standards.
Any entry that Destination Markham Corporation determines, in its sole discretion, contains inappropriate, offensive, threatening, discriminatory, defamatory, unlawful or otherwise objectionable content may be disqualified.
Destination Markham Corporation is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete, deleted, hidden, filtered, misdirected, inaccessible or otherwise not received or capable of being verified.
All Contest entry records become the property of Destination Markham Corporation and will not be returned.
By entering the Contest, entrants grant Destination Markham Corporation the right to use information submitted with an entry for the purposes of administering the Contest, confirming eligibility, contacting the selected entrant and awarding the Prize, without further notice or compensation.
PRIZE
There is one (1) prize available to be won (the “Prize”).
The Prize consists of one (1) pair of Centre Court tickets to the National Bank Open presented by Rogers at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto, Ontario, for the day session on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The Prize includes two (2) Centre Court tickets for the Round of 16 day session in Section 123, Row H, with a scheduled Centre Court start time of 12:30 p.m. ET.
The approximate retail value of the Prize is two hundred and thirty-five dollars ($235 CAD).
The Prize provides admission only in accordance with the access rights, terms and conditions attached to the tickets.
The Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or redeemable for cash, in whole or in part.
The Prize and the tickets may not be sold, resold, auctioned or used for any commercial, advertising or promotional purpose.
No substitutions will be made except at the sole discretion of Destination Markham Corporation. Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right to substitute the Prize or any component of the Prize with a prize of equal or greater value if the Prize becomes unavailable for a reason within Destination Markham Corporation’s reasonable control.
The date, time, players, matches, court assignments, programming and event schedule are subject to change without notice. Destination Markham Corporation does not guarantee that any particular player will participate or that any particular match will take place during the session.
ELECTRONIC TICKET DELIVERY
The tickets will be delivered electronically.
The winner will be responsible for:
Providing a valid email address;
Maintaining access to a compatible mobile device;
Creating or accessing any account required to receive and use the tickets;
Accepting the electronic ticket transfer within the period specified by Destination Markham Corporation; and
Ensuring that the tickets can be displayed and scanned at the venue.
The winner and their guest must comply with all ticket terms, venue policies, security requirements and instructions imposed by the event organizer, ticket issuer and venue.
If the winner fails to accept the electronic ticket transfer within the period specified by Destination Markham Corporation, the Prize may be forfeited.
The winner is responsible for the conduct of their guest. The guest may be required to sign a liability release before using the second ticket.
PRIZE EXCLUSIONS
The Prize does not include:
Transportation to or from Sobeys Stadium;
Accommodation;
Parking;
Meals or beverages;
Merchandise;
Insurance;
Gratuities;
Personal expenses;
Mobile devices or internet access;
Costs associated with creating or accessing a ticket account; or
Any other costs, taxes or fees not expressly identified as part of the Prize.
All such expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner and their guest.
EVENT CHANGES OR CANCELLATION
The schedule of matches, order of play, players, court assignments, session dates and session start times may be changed without notice.
If the event or session is postponed, rescheduled, interrupted or cancelled for any reason outside the reasonable control of Destination Markham Corporation, Destination Markham Corporation will not be responsible for providing compensation or replacing the Prize, except at its sole discretion.
If the session is rescheduled and the tickets remain valid for the rescheduled session, the winner will be responsible for attending on the rescheduled date and for any resulting expenses.
The City of Markham, Tennis Canada, the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, the event organizers, Sobeys Stadium and the ticket issuer will not be responsible for providing an alternate prize or compensation to the winner.
ODDS OF WINNING
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible regular and bonus entries received during the Contest Period.
DRAW
One (1) potential winner will be selected by random draw from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
The draw will take place on or about Friday, August 7, 2026, in Markham, Ontario.
The selected entrant will be considered a potential winner until all eligibility, skill-testing, documentation and Prize-claim requirements contained in these Contest Rules have been satisfied.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
The selected potential winner will be contacted through a direct message sent from the official @visitmarkham Instagram account on Friday, August 7, 2026.
Destination Markham Corporation will not request payment, banking information, credit card information, gift cards or any fee from the selected entrant in order to claim the Prize.
The selected entrant must respond to the initial notification within six (6) hours after the direct message is sent.
The selected entrant should monitor their Instagram direct messages, including message-request and filtered-message folders, after the Contest closes.
Destination Markham Corporation may request the selected entrant’s full name, email address, telephone number, city and province or territory of residence, Instagram username and proof of age, identity or residency for the purposes of verifying eligibility and transferring the Prize.
If the selected entrant:
Does not respond within six (6) hours after the initial notification is sent;
Cannot be contacted;
Fails to provide requested information within the period specified by Destination Markham Corporation;
Is determined to be ineligible;
Fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question;
Fails to sign and return any required declaration or release;
Declines the Prize;
Fails to accept the electronic ticket transfer within the required period; or
Otherwise fails to comply with these Contest Rules,
the selected entrant will be disqualified and the Prize will be forfeited.
Destination Markham Corporation may then select another potential winner by random draw from among the remaining eligible entries. Any alternate selected entrant will also be required to respond within six (6) hours after the alternate winner notification is sent, or within any shorter reasonable period stated in the notification due to the time-sensitive nature of the Prize.
Due to the date-specific nature of the Prize, Destination Markham Corporation is not required to continue selecting alternate entrants if there is insufficient time to verify an alternate winner and transfer the tickets before the event.
PRIZE CLAIM
Before being declared the winner and receiving the Prize, the selected entrant must:
Correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by Destination Markham Corporation;
Confirm compliance with these Contest Rules and all eligibility requirements;
Sign and return any declaration of eligibility, compliance, liability release and publicity consent required by Destination Markham Corporation within the period specified;
Release Destination Markham Corporation and the Released Parties identified below from liability relating to the Contest, the Prize, travel to or attendance at the event, and the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Prize; and
Accept the electronic ticket transfer within the period specified by Destination Markham Corporation.
Failure to satisfy any of these requirements will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the Prize.
PUBLICITY
By accepting the Prize, the winner consents to the use of their name, Instagram username, city and province or territory of residence, photograph, image, voice, statements and likeness by Destination Markham Corporation, without additional notice or compensation, in any publicity or promotional materials relating to the Contest, except where prohibited by law.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
By entering the Contest, entrants consent to their personal information being collected, stored, used and processed by Destination Markham Corporation for the purposes of:
Administering the Contest;
Recording and validating entries;
Confirming eligibility;
Contacting and verifying the selected entrant;
Preventing fraud or misuse;
Transferring and awarding the Prize; and
Satisfying applicable legal, regulatory and record-keeping requirements.
Personal information collected for Contest administration will not be used to send commercial electronic messages unless the entrant has separately provided express consent.
If an entrant separately provides express consent to receive Destination Markham Corporation’s electronic newsletter or other commercial electronic messages, Destination Markham Corporation may use the entrant’s contact information for those purposes.
Entrants may withdraw consent to receive commercial electronic messages at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those messages.
Information posted publicly on Instagram, including an entrant’s username, comment and tagged accounts, may be visible to other users and will also be subject to Instagram’s privacy policies and terms.
INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK DISCLAIMER
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc.
By entering the Contest, each entrant completely releases Instagram, Facebook and Meta Platforms, Inc. from any claims, losses, damages, actions or liabilities arising from or relating to the Contest.
Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to Destination Markham Corporation and not to Instagram, Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc.
THIRD-PARTY DISCLAIMER
The City of Markham, Tennis Canada, the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, its sponsors, event organizers and operators, Sobeys Stadium, Instagram, Facebook, Meta Platforms, Inc., the ticket issuer and each of their respective elected officials, directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, affiliates, successors and assigns are collectively referred to in these Contest Rules as the “Released Parties.”
The Released Parties:
Are not sponsors or administrators of the Contest;
Are not responsible for creating or administering the Contest;
Are not responsible for collecting or validating entries;
Are not responsible for selecting, contacting or confirming the winner;
Are not responsible for awarding or transferring the Prize on behalf of Destination Markham Corporation; and
Have no responsibility or liability in connection with the administration of the Contest.
The National Bank Open presented by Rogers, Tennis Canada and Sobeys Stadium are referenced solely for the purpose of accurately describing the event and Prize.
RELEASE AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless Destination Markham Corporation and the Released Parties, and each of their respective elected officials, directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, affiliates, successors and assigns, from any claims, losses, damages, expenses, actions or liabilities of any kind resulting directly or indirectly from:
Entering or participating in the Contest;
The administration or operation of the Contest;
Being selected or not selected as the winner;
Incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate entry information;
Technical failures or interruptions;
Lost, late, hidden, filtered, incomplete, inaccessible or misdirected entries or communications;
Unauthorized human intervention in the Contest;
Acceptance, transfer, possession, use or misuse of the Prize;
Travel to or attendance at the event;
The acts or omissions of the winner or their guest;
Postponement, interruption, rescheduling or cancellation of the event or session;
Changes to players, matches, programming, court assignments or start times;
Personal injury, death, property damage, loss or expense occurring in connection with the Prize or event; or
Any technical, ticketing, venue, security or operational issue connected with the Prize.
Nothing in these Contest Rules is intended to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
Destination Markham Corporation and the Released Parties are not responsible for:
Interrupted or unavailable internet, mobile, telephone or platform services;
Failed, incomplete, delayed or misdirected communications;
Instagram outages, errors or technical problems;
Account privacy settings that prevent an entry from being viewed or verified;
Deleted, hidden or filtered comments;
Suspended, disabled or inaccessible accounts;
Failed electronic ticket transfers;
Device incompatibility;
Failure by an entrant to monitor their direct messages or message requests; or
Any other technical problem outside their reasonable control.
Proof that an entrant attempted to submit an entry does not constitute proof that the entry was received, recorded or accepted.
GENERAL
By entering the Contest, entrants agree to comply with these Contest Rules. All decisions of Destination Markham Corporation concerning the Contest are final and binding, subject to applicable law.
Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to prohibit any person from entering the Contest or to disqualify any entrant whom it believes:
Provided false or misleading information;
Used automated entry methods;
Attempted to circumvent the entry requirements;
Tampered with the entry process;
Interfered with the proper administration of the Contest;
Engaged in fraudulent, abusive or unsportsmanlike conduct;
Violated these Contest Rules; or
Violated Instagram’s applicable terms, policies or community standards.
Destination Markham Corporation reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the Contest or these Contest Rules, in whole or in part, if fraud, technical failures, platform changes, unauthorized intervention or any other cause beyond its reasonable control affects the proper administration, security, fairness or integrity of the Contest.
If the Contest is cancelled or terminated after eligible entries have been received, Destination Markham Corporation may select a potential winner from among the eligible entries received before the cancellation or termination, where reasonably possible.
Destination Markham Corporation’s failure to enforce any provision of these Contest Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
If any provision of these Contest Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
