The weather is finally warming up, and the sun is shining more! That means Spring is in the air, and more time to get outside. Whether you want to get active with a workout or just want to get some fresh air after staying inside all winter, there is something for you to do. There are countless ways to get outside, but here are some of our favourites!
Parks and Trails
Markham has dozens of different trails and parks of all types for a nice spring stroll. Or you can grab your running shoes or your bike for a different way of exploring Markham’s trails. Bring your family and/or fur baby out with you to make it more fun!
Some of the more popular trails include Milne Dam Conservation Area, TooGood Pond, German Mills Settlers Park, Bob Hunter Memorial Park and the Rouge River National Urban Park.

Golf Courses
As the snow melted away, the golf courses have been prepping their courses for opening. With scattered opening dates in April and May, visit one of Markham’s golf courses to enjoy the outdoors.

In addition to walking trails, there are parks with great vantage points to observe birds. From Canadian Geese to Cardinals to Chickadees and everything in between, you’ll see some beautiful birds at these Markham Parks.

As the weather is getting warmer, another great way to get outside this spring is by playing some outdoor sports.
Community sports fields and facilities are starting to open again! Tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and more can be found scattered throughout Markham and can be found near schools and community centers. Grab your equipment, get outside, and have a fun afternoon!
